Credit Card Legislation - will they get it right?
May 10th 2009 00:52
Amazingly, I agree that legislation is on this matter is needed. My concern is will they get it right, or will it get watered down by all the millions of dollars the Credit card companies are going to spend lobbying against any provisions that really make a difference. In my opinion, they will muck it up and water it down until it is virtually useless, like what happens with most attempts to legislate real change in terms of protecting consumers from big business. We are a borderline Fascist country, due to how much of the government ends up being influenced by big business. It's sad really, because this is a great opportunity for congress to fulfill it's duty to protect the American people from a truly oppressive faction. Be sure to contact your representatives and tell them not to cave in to the lobbying of the credit card companies that want to milk us all dry in red tape and legal-ease. Make sure they listen to you, the people, and not the businesses that need to be brought under control.
