Medical Marijuana - who really cares?

I know who cares - The government does. They spend billions of dollars a year at every level to try and stop otherwise law abiding citizens from smoking marijuana. And every year it has little to no effect. This could be the biggest boondoggle yet by the US government.
Why do they care? Because they can use it to gain from. They passed unconstitutional RICO laws so that they can illegally seize your property before there is even a verdict in your case. They use it to keep young black men in prison for half of their natural lives. And it perpetuates the gang problem by providing a black market commodity for them to sell.
As the gang problem and related crime gets worse, they use that as an excuse to take away our rights, nibbling one little bit at a time until we wake up one morning and have to wait for them to tell us what to eat for breakfast and what we can wear to work and how we should get to work and what kind of work we should do and how we should do it.
Let me share the 2 facts I know that relate to this:
1. I would rather be on the road with a stoned driver than a drunk one.
2. I have known a LOT of pot smokers and never has one committed any violent crime either to get pot or because they were on pot. N-E-V-E-R.
It's time for the government to try solving some problems instead of creating new ones.
