Liberty is Life - Liberty is Life

Apparently, they don't hear us!

August 5th 2009 14:31
The more we say we don't want this Healthcare package the president is pushing, the more they want us to have it. It's like dealing with children with ADHD. Now they are going out and talking to us regular people about it, and when we boo them, they say we are organized knights who say nee and that we don' really represent the people. What a bunch of idiots! They don't hear us because they don't WANT to hear us, and they aren't going to start listening to us anytime soon. Maybe if the millions of us that don't want this all go to Washington on the same day and tell them, THEN they will hear us! They will probably say something like, 'Oh, we didn't realize...', even though we have been screaming at them for the past 2 months. People, I am afraid we are going to have to act on this one to stop it from happening. The closed door sessions and secret committee meetings continue even now, and the Democratic leadership is saying they have a plan in place to use some legislative shenanigans to push this through even without a majority. You must continue to call your government employees(representatives) and keep telling them you don't want this plan, you want real Health care reform in the form of tax write-offs for health care expenditures. If they pass this they will be raising taxes right behind it to pay for it! Fight Obama-Care!

It's funny - Repubs and other right-wingers think that no one hears them screaming about this issue. We hear you. We know what you think and how you feel. And we don't care. You do not represent a majority of Americans. If you did, you wouldn't have lost so many seats in the House and Senate in '06 and '08. We (as in, The Left) are continuing to work on this because we think it will benefit America, and THE MAJORITY of Americans agree.

The fact is, the majority of Americans want at least a public option for health care. What we have now isn't cutting it. My relatives in Germany certainly aren't complaining about higher taxes for their health care because they don't have to worry about skyrocketing premiums and denial of care. I know, I've asked. And no, before you say it, they don't wait for 4 hours in the waiting room to see a doctor. And no, they don't wait 6 months to get surgery.

Scream all you want - I don't enjoy listening to it, but I sure as hell enjoy your right to do it. So, I say, YES OBAMA CARE!

We don't care. Well that's real understanding. Just because the Democrats have control that makes it ok to force things on us. Well, I disagree. But you will see once it is forced on us just how bad it can be. Even the Democrats I know are against it. If it so desired, then why are they out stomping telling us how great it is? If it was truly so great, wouldn't everyone support it? Funny how left wingers always claim that being in control is enough to justify their enforced policies.

You know, it amazes me how quickly the right has forgotten what a rubber stamp congress was for years under Bush and how obstructionist they were during the Clinton administration (when health care reform should have passed the first time!). Have you forgotten FISA, Medicare 2003, and the $1.3 TRILLION tax cuts for the wealthy? And the Dems were not given a seat at the table then. You complain that we are forcing things on you? The Dems in congress are bending over forward to get compromise with you!

Listen, the only reason we're yelling so loud to get this passed is that we have to yell louder than the billions of dollars being spent by a health industry that doesn't want to lose its obscene profits! They spend billions to spread disinformation! All we CAN do is try to yell louder. And promise me this - if this passes, costs in the industry decrease, and your overall care improves, retract everything you've said on this topic. If the opposite is the case, I'll be happy to do the same.

Yeah if the Dems can agree on it themselves, and I dont think the moderates Dems will vote for it... as for the Clinton plan, Clinton crafted her plan and the CONGRESS left it. Oh dont forget in the 70's when Jimmy Carter tried also... Um failed.
